When Disney Channel’s ‘Phineas and Ferb’ was in the making, the creators were asked to change the concept of the animation but Disney Channel Entertainment’s President, Gary Marsh, refused to do so. Marsh believed that the geometric shapes of the heads of the characters is what makes the show unique, showing the creative idea of someone thinking outside the ordinary.

After two seasons, ‘Phineas and Ferb’ is now the first ever original animated series of Disney Channel drawing lots of viewers. Now, children are getting hooked with the unusually shaped characters.

‘Phineas and Ferb’ is is lining with Nickelodeaon’s ‘SpongeBob Squarepants’. Even viewers of the long running animated series are now switching to watching the Disney Channel’s ‘Phineas and Ferb’.

Because of the success of the show, Disney Channel is giving special treatment to the show. Disney is now planning to expand the franchise of the said show. The company is planning to put up a merchandise line of the show, showcasing around 200 items with concepts form ‘Phineas and Ferb’. Some of the items include boxer shorts, skateboards, macaroni and cheese boxes, which young viewers will definitely love.

Other than the merchandise, Disney is planning to put the show in the big screen. The movie will be entitled ‘Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension’. Expect the movie to be released some time in summer.

Various stars would have wanted to take part in voicing over characters in the upcoming movie. Most requests that they be included in the cast with their kids, because they love watching the show together. Some of the stars that will be voicing over are: Tina Fey, Ben Stiller, Seth MacFarlane. Even director Kevin Smith and singers Clay Aiken and Chaka Khan are taking part in the movie.

Marsh does have high hopes for the new projects for the show. He said in an interview that in the coming 18 months, the show will become one of the most successful and biggest franchise that Disney Channel will have.

Disney Channel is now planning to make other shows in line with ’Phineas and Ferb’.
